PAP (Protected Area Permit) is required for all visitors. Any person wishing to visit The Bylakuppe Camp area must apply for (and get) a PROTECTED AREA PERMIT (PAP) from the Government of India, New Delhi in addition to regular (tourist-) visa.
PAP (Protected Area Permit Form
All the Tibetan settlements established in India are classified as Protected Areas. Foreign friends of Tibetans wishing to visit the Tibetan settlements are required to take note of the following:
Protected Area Permit (PAP) is mandatory for visiting Tibetan Settlements in India. This service is provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
PAP could be applied through the Indian Missions in your respective countries or directly to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Jaisalmer House, Mansingh Road, New Delhi - 11, through the
PAP application form along with copies of your passport, visa details and two passport size photographs.
Please provide about 4 or 5 months to process your PAP application.
Requirements:
- Three duly filled Protected Area Permit (PAP) Form.
- Two copies of National Passport
- Two Passport size colour photographs with white background
- Recommendation/Supporting letter from the concerned Tibetan Settlement Officer/ Monastic institutions
